  • The Allison Inn & Spa: Newberg, Oregon

Looking for an incredible place to enjoy luxury accommodations for both you and your pet, the Allison Inn & Spa in Oregon’s Willamette Valley is a great place to stay. The Inn is listed as one of the top pet friendly hotels in the United States.  There is a one-time fee of $50 per pet whether you stay a night, weekend or spend a week enjoying the Spa and Oregon’s wine country.

  • Mai Chau Lodge: Vietnam

Viet Nam evokes many thoughts and memories for the Baby Boomers. I remember watching the draft lottery with my college classmates knowing that a lot of my male friends would not make it home. I was so passionate about this war that I wanted to cover it as a news correspondent since I majored in Radio and Television, but it was the 60's and I was told, “no place for a woman to be.” This was a pivotal moment for our generation and somehow, time heals, seasons change and life perseveres. I never dreamed I would be writing a review of a tranquil Lodge 150 km northwest of Hanoi.

Mai Chau Lodge offers the peace and serenity we never thought was possible.

  • Mustards Grill: Yountville, California

Cindy Pawleyn is so brilliant in the culinary world. She is chef-owner of this sophisticated and centrally located restaurant in the wine country. The parking lot is always full, no matter when you drive down the highway. There is a nice garden with tables as you walk up in case you have to wait to get in. When you enter the front door, there is a small bar. It is truly a hot spot and the place to be seen. You will get such excellence of food that will go directly to your soul.

  • Panama: A Cultural Crossroads

Explore the colors and natural beauty of Panama – a land between the seas.

  • Bowser Beer: Beer for Dogs – Pack it up for your Dog when you Travel

One of Susie’s many male admirers brought an interesting and unique product to our attention that she would like to share with her many friends – Bowser Beer. What a great idea! Of course this beer is non-alcoholic and does not contain any hops which are toxic to dogs. In other words, do not give your dog human beer; instead buy him/her a supply of Bowser Beer.

  • The Basilica of Saint Mary of the Flower: Florence, Italy

During our first trip to Italy, we spent 3 days in Florence. Out the window of our home base, Hotel De Lansi, was the main church of Florence, The Basilica of Saint Mary of the Flower. The ideas and architectural techniques used to build its dome played an important role in igniting the Renaissance.

  • Mango Street Inn: Ft. Myers Beach, Florida

It's always great fun to tell you about these hidden treasures that I find in various locations. This one happens to be in sunny Florida – Ft. Myers to be exact. I find the gulf side to be more serene and I am partial to white sand.

I am also partial to great hospitality and that's exactly what you'll find at the Mango Street Inn. Here you arrive as a guest, but leave as a friend and let's face it, as Boomers, these types of experiences sometimes mean more than fancy amenities.

  • El Fenn: Marrakesh, Morocco

This is a beautifully wow, elegant place to go to sleep, eat and play! All the rooms are Moroccan style and have amazing baths with tubs and monsoon showers. The décor is impeccable. I adore boutique hotels and this is tops. A contemporary, classic gem was created by Vanessa Branson and Howell James. The very historic architecture with terraces and gardens make the perfect place to enjoy Africa's city and you will hear birds humming since they are so happy here.
