Susie was pleased to find out that another breed of pet is working to provide relief to traveler’s at the nearby Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Now travelers are greeted by a group of therapy miniature horses.

As a therapy dog herself, Susie is delighted to see other animals coming to the fore especially in the area of travel. Airports around the country and world are being enhanced by the presence of therapy dogs, therapy cats, therapy pigs and now therapy horses.

Over 30 airports in the United States have therapy dogs present. San Francisco has a therapy pig.

The horses come from Seven Oaks Farm in southwest Ohio. The farm has a stable of 34 therapy horses.

Therapy animals are selected for their steady temperament and don’t get spooked by the noises of the environment around them.

During the recent running of the Kentucky Derby the horses and attendants were appropriately dressed and really added to the atmosphere of the season at the airport.

Now there are some passengers who try to schedule their flights so they can see the horses.
