The Next Big Hotel Amenity? Wellness Options
Jane Coloccia, Wellness Patrol
I’ve been consulting with a large international hotel group, which manages a variety of hotel brands from budget to luxury. They’ve recently launched a “Well-Being Department” and are currently investigating and implementing ways to incorporate wellness into their operations.
While many hotels and resorts once considered their ode to wellness to be an on-site spa or access to a nearby day spa with some massage and body treatment offerings, this company — and a number of others — are rethinking the entire guest experience to see how they can incorporate wellness into all guest touch points in a hotel.
They are realizing wellness is becoming a top priority of many consumers — Baby Boomers included — and feel they need to be able to support a guest’s interest and commitment to the pursuit of wellness even while traveling.
How might this look?
It’s an exciting time to be a wellness-minded traveler now. I’ll keep you posted on the latest developments in wellness travel, who is doing what, and what you want to check out.
