AKE YOURSELF ON A WELLNESS RETREAT FOR BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT
By Jane Coloccia
Wellness looks like many things to different people. For some, wellness is about eating right, working out, perhaps losing weight or changing eating habits, and making sure your body is working at optimum performance.
For others, wellness is pampering — resting, relaxing, and rejuvenating through spa treatments and indulgent rituals like mud wraps, facials, scrubs, and the like.
And for others still, wellness is an inside job. It involves working on how you think about yourself and about life because that affects every other part of your being.
No doubt, all three types of “wellness” activities can have a positive impact on our lives. And one special place where you can embrace all three types of wellness is at Kripalu in Lenox, Massachusetts.
Kripalu has been around for many years and is the spiritual home for many people who are into yoga, who like to take an R&R Retreat, or who want to indulge in a class to work on just about anything from relationships to health to writing, and much more.
The setting for Kripalu is absolutely magnificent — in the Berkshires. It’s the perfect place to just take a walk and soak up the power and serenity of nature. It’s also a great venue to enjoy incredibly tasty vegan meals and sample something else most of us don’t do: a silent breakfast. Kripalu is known for its silent breakfast – where you eat in the main dining hall with everyone else, but just stay alone with your own thoughts in order to center yourself before you start your day.
While Kripalu has hundreds of workshops to choose from — I can wholeheartedly recommend workshops with Julia Cameron (The Artist’s Way), Nancy Slonim Arone (Writing From The Heart), and even just escaping to Kripalu for a weekend R&R (Rest and Relaxation) where you can indulge in spa treatments and just be in the wonder of the Berkshires, this coming fall and also in January of next year, you can participate in an incredible workshop with Tama Kieves:
Unleash Your Calling: Creating the Work and Life You Love.”
As a devotee of Tama Kieves, I’ve read all of her books and also just took a workshop with her. She’s the perfect combination of being self-deprecating and incredibly funny as well as authentic, inspirational, and effective. She helps her workshop participants cut through all of the stories they tell themselves and focus on what they really want out of life. I have sat in a room with her and watched her interact with people and the minute she asks them what they really want to do in their life and helps them to get past all of their stories and resistance, their faces light up when they realize that maybe they actually CAN have the life they want. We all can.
Tama’s workshop will take place at Kripalu October 14 to 18,2018 and again January 25 to 27, 2019.

I’ll be sharing news, information, and special packages and offerings to do with wellness travel as the “Wellness Patrol” for Boomer Patrol. I’ve also got a website which is an aggregator of everything people do to get in touch with their soul at SoulJourneyInspiration.com.
